Broken Water and such...
It’s 2:10pm on Christmas Day, which means Kim and I are about 10 minutes late to my parents for a Christmas celebration. I’ll think the tardy will be excused, however, considering we’re hanging out on the second floor of Baylor Medical in Grapevine with a steady flow of petosin cruising through Kim’s veins.
Kim’s water broke yesterday evening before we visited The Jacksons for Christmas Eve. We decided to hold off on calling the doctor until Kim started feeling contractions. We made it through the evening and decided that if Kim wasn’t feeling contractions by the morning we’d call the doctor. So when we woke up around 9 we put a call in. After hearing Kim’s story, Doctor Simms asked us to come into the hospital. Somewhere around 11:00 am we got the green light and shortly after that they started the petosin.
We’ve got the coolest room in the hospital. It’s a huge corner room with a lot of windows. Kim is thrilled to be in a nice room with sunlight and even more thrilled to be only hours away from delivery.
My parents stopped in for an hour or so. They’re PUMPED! Kim’s family just arrived and they’re keeping Kim and I company at the moment. We’re watching the Nutcracker and discussing pediatrics (Kim’s sharing her concern with the room about whether our pediatrician, who’s close to retirement, will have steady enough hands to perform a clean circumcision.).
More to come…
